Legal dilemma holding up KAC privatization | Kuwait Times

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is studying a legal problem pertaining to potential errors in procedures while establishing the Kuwait Airways Company since the Cabinet appointed the KAC board before signing the contracts or holding a general assembly meeting. After an emergency decree was issued last September to privatize the national carrier by establishing the Kuwait Airways Company, the next step was supposed to be filing a request for the company’s proclamation which should have been followed by a constituent meeting for the general assembly to elect the board members or have them appointed by the Kuwait Investment Authority which is the founding body.
